When a body is discovered on an abandoned island off the coast of Maine, local sheriff's deputy and Brokenstone Island resident David Trimble is handed the investigation.  Living in a place he doesn't quite understand, and tasked with protecting a population that values privacy over justice, Trimble is pulled into a whirlpool of greed and corruption that runs the length of Maine's tourist-friendly coastline.  Behind the postcard vistas and briny salt air exists a culture of sin and vice to rival any city in America; Mainers are just better at hiding it.
